Scholarships
The Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association/Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame has awarded over $120,000 of scholarships since the program began in 1992.† The program started with one scholarship, moved to two in 1993, to four in 1996, and to five in 2002.

To be eligible, candidates need to be a high school senior hockey player.† They must then submit an application indicating why they feel that they deserve the scholarship, including high school and community activities.† Letters of recommendations must be submitted from the high school principal, teachers, or coaches.

Winners are selected by a committee based on their essay and letters of recommendation, with heavy emphasis put on school and community service activities.† Past and current winners are some of the most outstanding young adults in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association and Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame are very proud of these recipients and proud to award these $1,000 scholarships to the future leaders of our Wisconsin communities.

WIAMA (Wisconsin Arena Management Assosciation) Conference April 19-20
This year's conference will be held at the Spring-Brook Resort in Wisconsin Dells.

The morning always has a good start with association updates from USA Hockey, US Figure Skating and WAHA.

After the association updates will be a combined effort to talk about growth and retention in skaters from U.S. Ice Rink Assoc. speaker John Monteleone and US Figure Skating Kim Hines.† One of the things we have asked Kim to talk about is the combined effort of USA Hockey and US Figure Skating in the Learn to Skate USA.† Kim will speak on the pipeline of skater development.† It has been shared with me from different parts of the state on how should a kid get started in hockey?† When is the transition from Learn to Skate to association hockey supposed to start?

At the recently concluded USA Hockey Winter Meeting in Orlando, former WAHA President Don Mulder was given the USA Hockey Presidentís Award for Service.† Mulderís service to ice hockey began as a Board member of the Waupun Hockey Association and served as its president for nine years.† †He has been a member of the WAHA Board of Directors since 1982, and has served in numerous capacities during that time, including six terms as President of the organization.† He also helped in the establishment of hockey programs in West Bend and Sheboygan.† Mulder was inducted to the Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame in 1998, and serves as a Board Member for the Hall of Fame.† He is a long-serving member of the USA Hockey Adult Council and is a member of the Board of Directors of USA Hockey, serving as a Central District Director.† In June of 2016, Mulder was elected a member of the USA Hockey Executive Committee. †Mulder received the Presidentís Award for the service he has provided and continues to provide to USA Hockey and WAHA.† Mulder was born in Waupun, and he and his wife Judy make their home in Fond du Lac.

Please be aware some deceptive e-mails are being generated and sent to local associations, clubs, and affiliates using the e-mail addresses listed on your websites. They are asking for payments, account balances, and money transfers. Most have fake e-mail addresses but look authentic. A few Treasurer's have also received faxes looking for the same information. Please make sure your association's Treasurers are on alert and double-checking to be sure they are not responding to these deceptive practices.

PARENTS' GUIDE TO BUYING EQUIPMENT (8U)

To access, the local association President or Vice President would need to submit through the link below. Once confirmed, they can invite the rest of the board to join them in the portal. Each leader has a job description, monthly tasks and a resource center with quick reference templates / best practice guides that relates to their association role.
