WAHA High Performance 14, 15 Skater Tryouts

Defensemen and forwards must register online beginning January 16 to compete in their respective open skater tryout on March 24-25 at Stevens Point. WAHA will form teams and post player report times on the WAHA website www.wahahockey.com for both birth-years.

New this year for both birth-year tryouts is the special skills session on Saturday morning, followed by (2004's) four games (2 Saturday, 2 Sunday); (2003's) three games ending the regular tryout followed by an All Star game.
  • Participants must be registered for the 2017-18 season with USA Hockey. If not, please register for the 2017-18 season. Click HERE to register with USA Hockey.
  • Skaters (defenseman and forwards) must register online for the skater tryouts at www.wahahockey.com beginning January 16th. NO REFUNDS.
  • Player Report Times for all players will be posted on the WAHA website prior to the tryout.
  • Tryout fee is $125 for defenseman and forwards and $75 for the selected goalies from the goalie tryouts which will include ice time and a jersey.
  • Use debit card, credit card or a gift card only.
  • NO REFUNDS, NO WALK-INS AND NO CASH OR CHECKS ACCEPTED. IF NO DEBT OR CREDIT CARD IS USED, PLEASE USE A VISA GIFT CARD TO REGISTER ONLINE.
  • Each birth year is considered separately in the tryouts.
  • Skater registration for each tryout location will be limited by position (D & F), therefore the number of players allowed in the tryout will be limited. No exceptions
  • Skaters must try-out for the position (defense or forward) they actually register for - No exceptions

Approximately 31 Wisconsin players will be selected directly from the 2004 Skater Tryout at KB Willet Ice Arena in Stevens Point to join players from IL, IA, KS, MO and NE at the USA Hockey Central District 14 High Performance Camp June 17-22 at Iowa State University in Ames Iowa. Players names will be posted on www.centraldistricthockey.org and player families will pay their camp fee at this website. Player evaluations at the camp will be kept at USA Hockey. No further steps.

Approximately 20 players will be selected directly from the 2003 Skater tryout at the Ice Hawk Arena in Stevens Point Wisconsin to compete against players from IL, IA, MO, KS and NE at the USA Hockey Central District High Performance 15 Festival on May 11-13 at Cedar Rapids Iowa Ice Arena. A list of players moving on to this festival will be posted at www.centraldistricthockey.org where families can pay their district festival fee online. Players will compete to move on to the USA Hockey Boys Select 15 (2003) National Player Development Camp on July 15-20 at Amherst NY. A list of players moving on to this National camp will also be posted at www.centraldistricthockey.org.
